Back 2 Basics is an early childhood educational consulting company servicing Prek-3rd grade school districts, administrators, educators, child parent centers, agencies, and families. We believe in supporting and helping young children reach their educational potential by providing interactive professional development learning labs on the diverse and unique ways that children learn. Our learning labs are fun and engaging, giving everyone that interpersonal learning experience. You will walk away feeling challenged, invigorated, and inspired to engage and support young children.

We believe that young children deserve to receive high-quality instructional teaching, so our goal is to inspire educators to teach with passion, care, and fidelity. We support and advocate for families by working together with educators to ensure that children are successful in school. We stay grounded in research on child development, teacher learning, and developmentally appropriate classroom practices to help improve equitable outcomes for children and their families.

Valencia holds a Masters in Early Childhood Education and teacher certification in Early Childhood Development through the State of Illinois, she has over 30 years of experience working with professionals, administrators, early childhood educators, and families with young children. Once a classroom teacher herself, she has enjoyed the opportunity to motivate and inspire young children. She has had the pleasure of presenting at NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children), on early childhood best practices content, IRC (Illinois Reading Council) on supporting young children in learning to read and write, and virtually at the McCormick Center for Early Childhood Leadership on how administrators can support educators in the classroom. She believes in diversity, equity, and inclusion and the importance of educating the whole child in a thoughtful and engaging environment where the child and families are welcomed in their educational setting.
